WordMeld Story
The author of the game is a translation agency manager, terminologist, and university lecturer who has long moved between languages, specialized texts, and precise concepts. Alongside his professional seriousness, however, lives his playful side. He enjoys experimenting with words, searching for new meanings and linguistic paradoxes.
In 2020, while teaching terminology, he noticed that students remembered new concepts better when they discovered, assembled, and used them in context rather than memorizing lists. From this observation, the first idea of a language-based card game — WordMeld® — was born.
The First Cards
In 2021, the first prototypes of the cards were created. Inspiration came from traditional word games but was combined with strategic card mechanics that force players to think ahead and plan: not just “find a word” but also “decide when and how to play it.”
These early cards were used mainly as a teaching aid in terminology classes and were tested by small groups of students and players.
The year 2025 marked a turning point. After years of prototypes, testing, and adjustments, we made the decision not only to further refine the game but also to officially bring it to market. We returned to the original idea from 2020 — a game that bridges the precision of terminology with the joy of discovering words. We also looked back at the first cards from 2021, which had already shown that the concept worked and had the potential to engage not just students, but a much wider audience.
In 2025, we reworked the design, the mechanics, and the rules. We tested the game in different language settings, involving groups of players with varying levels of language skills, and fine-tuned the balance between fun and educational value. WordMeld® gradually transformed from an academic experiment and playful teaching tool into a full-fledged board game that combines the thrill of forming words with the strategy of planning your moves.
The final version, launched in 2025, carries a double ambition: to be a fun and engaging game for players of all ages, and at the same time a subtle training of memory, language, and logic. The journey from the first spark of an idea in 2020, through the early card prototypes in 2021, to the polished game of 2025 shows that WordMeld® is a project that has grown alongside its players, their feedback, and an endless fascination with the world of words.

Benefits of Playing Board Games
A game, generally, adds joy to life, but board games additionally teach some unique skills and give a couple of really life-improving benefits. It’s not an activity that should be enjoyed once in a while when you get bored or something, but a great chance to level up your power of problem-solving skill.
